The FIFPRO Team of the Year, an accolade honoring the top male and female footballers as selected by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Players' Union, was initially known as the FIFPRO World 11. It was established in 2005 with the intention of recognizing the finest footballers as voted upon by their peers. In 2009, a collaboration between FIFPRO and FIFA led to a rebranding of the award to the "FIFA FIFPRO World 11," also referred to as the FIFA Team of the Year, while maintaining its original format. Starting in 2024, FIFPRO will independently oversee the award and revert to its original title, the FIFPRO World 11.
The FIFPRO Team of the Year, a prestigious accolade chosen exclusively by players from across the globe, stands as the sole worldwide honor in football that is entirely player-voted. The criteria for the nominees' performances are based on a timeframe from August 4, 2025, to July 19, 2026, with a minimum requirement of participation in 30 official matches during this period.
The final lineup of 11 players will consist of 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 3 midfielders, 3 forwards, with the remaining position filled by the non-goalie player who receives the most votes.
